Now, to get to know me a little bit better. I’m just going to share with you some of my joys, passions and things I think are pretty cool, so here goes…

Anyone who knows me knows how important my family is to me. A week doesn’t go by that there isn’t a sporting event, birthday party, graduation, baptism, dance recital or no special reason at all for us to just get together. I joke that it drives me a little crazy, but these little things, these are what I missed when I was in Chicago, and these are what brought me back home.

Truth be told, my heart is still in the Midwest. Southern California is gorgeous and all, but sometimes I’m really convinced it lacks a soul.

I am inspired and awed by all things creative. Everything from fashion, to photography, to paintings, to interior design, to writing, to event planning, to architecture – the list goes on and on.

I love color.

I love beauty.

I think creative people are brilliant.

I love to learn and I always have. School is something that has always come pretty easily to me, in part because I enjoy it so much. I value education immensely. Most of my mentors and the people who have affected me the most in my life have been involved with my education in some way or another.

I have always had a passion for reading. In my opinion, nothing is better than a good book.

Another great pleasure of mine is devouring a magazine from cover to finish.

I’m for sure a cosmetics/beauty products junkie.

I paint my nails incessantly and I have every color you could ever want.

I’m obsessed with making inspiration boards.

I’m definitely a little OCD about organizing.

Lateness is my biggest pet peeve.

I want to see all 50 states before I die.

I am a shameless lover of pop music.

I’m a total Gleek.

Celebrity blogs are my guilty pleasure.

My perfect moment is sharing a good meal and good conversation with the people I love.

My favorite flowers are Peonies.

I love stationary.

I love making lists.

I’m ADDICTED to ChapStick and layer it on like it’s my job.

I love cupcakes and muffins (especially almond poppy seed).

I’m not athletic, but I like to pretend I could be if I cared to try.

I love yoga.

I love the Wicked Witch of the West from the Wizard of Oz (I know, it’s weird).

I love the ocean.

I love white twinkle lights.

Peter Pan is my favorite movie.

I’m trying to collect all the classic animated Disney movies.

I LOVE holidays and decorate for all of them.

I’m a total girl’s girl. I don’t know how any woman could get through life without a great group of girlfriends.

And I love the idea of possibility. I love that at this point in my life I feel like I can do absolutely anything. I’m captivated by the fact that this is the beginning and my opportunities and possibilities are endless.

And what about kick ball, cousin sleepovers, and Italy?……I know, I could also mention your OCD about the “photos from the left” too….the list could go on and on….but i digress. In the end, its all the good stuff that makes you the beautiful person you are.
